The featured design is inspired by L'Ornement Polychrome by Albert-Charles-Auguste Racinet (1825–1893), an accomplished illustrator and historian of global design. Best known for his monumental works Le Costume Historique and L'Ornement Polychrome, Racinet served as engraver and artistic director at the esteemed Parisian publisher Firmin Didot et Cie. Issued in ten installments between 1869 and 1873, the first edition of L'Ornement Polychrome documented 100 plates of decorative arts from antiquity to the eighteenth century, preserving the visual heritage of ornament from cultures around the world.
