The Artwork
Blindman’s Bluff places a blindfolded gentleman at the center of the scene, dressed in a brilliant blue coat, striped waistcoat, green breeches, white stockings, and buckled shoes. His arms stretch outward as he attempts to find one of the elaborately dressed figures gathered around him.
To his left, a figure in an enormous lavender gown reaches toward his hand. Blue ruffles edge the sweeping skirt, delicate flowers trail across its surface, and an extraordinary powdered hairstyle crowned with pink feathers rises dramatically above the ensemble.
