Artwork designed and digitally remastered by Sarasvati Designs. Anselmus Boëtius de Boodt was a Flemish physician, botanist, and author who was known for his groundbreaking botanical illustrations. His work, titled “Rorum Plantarum” or “The Roots of Plants,” was published between 1596 and 1610. It includes the illustration, Natural History Ensemble, no. 7. This artwork is one of the many that de Boodt produced while using a microscope to closely study plants, which gave him the ability to capture their intricate features with remarkable accuracy. The resulting illustrations were a major step forward in the field of botanical science and are still admired today for their beauty and precision.
