The Artwork
The Dragon Keeper features an elegant figure dressed in an extraordinary ivory ensemble with wide geometric sleeves, a black ribbon bow, and a magnificent skirt patterned with angular green, teal, and ivory forms. Bands of pink, green, and gold add unexpected color at the waist, while a sleek dark bob and small white headpiece complete the wonderfully stylized look.
In one hand, the keeper carries a small scarlet bowl while the other reaches gently toward the dragon. The gesture creates a charming sense of trust between the two figures, as though this extraordinary creature is simply another beloved resident of the garden.
The magnificent dragon curls through the composition in rich shades of scarlet and rust. Its elongated serpentine body sweeps around the keeper and across the foreground, with decorative pale markings, powerful clawed legs, an expressive horned head, and a long curling tail appearing among the flowers.
Around them rises a fantastical botanical world of brilliant teal blossoms, luminous white flowers, patterned petals, deep green leaves, and curling stems against a soft aqua background. The contemporary illustrative style blends Art Deco fashion illustration, mythical fantasy, decorative florals, geometric pattern, and whimsical storytelling.
