The Artwork
The Lady Of The Flying Garden features an elegant figure in a flowing ivory dress seemingly carried through the air above a fantastical flower garden. Red striped details accent the dress and stockings, while long ribbons stream behind her, giving the scene a wonderful sense of movement.
She holds the line of a green kite soaring above her, while another fanciful object trails behind on bright red cords. Nearby, a tiny winged figure floats through the sky, adding another unexpected touch of whimsy to the airborne adventure.
Below, the garden unfolds in dramatic layers of coral, pink, ivory, and red flowers against deep green foliage and rolling hills. Tiny figures hidden within the landscape make the enormous blossoms feel even more extraordinary, while the intense blue sky and stylized orange clouds transform the scene into a playful world where scale, gravity, and ordinary garden rules have been cheerfully abandoned.
Reimagined in contemporary illustrative style, the artwork blends Art Deco fashion illustration, surreal garden imagery, oversized flowers, kite-flying adventure, whimsical characters, and imaginative storytelling in a striking palette of cobalt blue, orange, coral, ivory, red, and green.
