The Artwork
The Lady Of The Midnight Dragon features a serene woman standing in an extraordinary garden beneath the watchful presence of a magnificent blue dragon. Dressed in long, flowing robes of misty blue, slate, and deep teal, she appears almost to belong to the midnight landscape itself.
Delicate botanical and ornamental patterns decorate her sweeping sleeves and gown, while her dark hair rises into an elegant coiffure adorned with tiny flowers and jeweled ornaments. In one hand she holds a spectacular pale blossom; in the other, a long slender stem curves gracefully toward the ground.
Behind her, the dragon rises dramatically from the darkness. Its immense scaled body twists around the composition in sweeping curves, its clawed forelegs reaching forward while its fierce face emerges above her head. Rather than overwhelming the lady, the dragon seems to encircle her, creating a powerful sense of mystery and guardianship.
Golden curling clouds drift across the midnight-blue sky, while fantastical coral-red trees rise from blue foliage below. A striking geometric railing in brilliant red and dark blue completes the garden, giving the scene another layer of elaborate decorative pattern.
Reimagined in contemporary illustrative style, the artwork blends Art Deco fashion illustration, dragon fantasy, Asian-inspired decorative art, botanical elegance, midnight gardens, flowing textiles, ornamental geometry, and wonderfully atmospheric storytelling.
