The Artwork
The Midnight Parlor unfolds in a sumptuous interior where every detail seems to belong to a secret story. An elegant figure sits upon a sweeping blue settee, her enormous ivory gown cascading around her in layers of pleats, ruffles, delicate blue floral garlands, and softly sculpted fabric.
Her towering powdered coiffure is crowned with an extraordinary plume, while pearls, ribbons, and a tiny fan complete the theatrical ensemble. Beside her stands a young attendant dressed magnificently in scarlet and gold, his elaborate coat, cap, white stockings, and ruffled collar echoing the brilliant color of the parrots perched nearby.
